Integrated systems design services

Duzett Roots LLC delivers six connected service lines for computer integrated systems design, each drawn from the same root-window method: see the whole soil profile, then build the layers that let it hold.

Every service below is offered as a standalone engagement or as part of a longer cultivation programme. We work from the studio at 1425 W 8780 S, West Jordan - 84088-9110, United States (US), and we take on work across professional, scientific and technical services. Our clients tend to run mixed estates: field hardware, on premises servers, cloud services and a growing set of integrations that no single person can fully describe. The services are ordered the way we would plant them, from the taproot outward.

Root Systems Integration

Root Systems Integration is the taproot engagement. We begin by inventorying every system your organisation runs and every connection between them, including the informal ones that were made quickly and never documented. From that inventory we design a small set of stable interfaces, usually a shared identity layer, an event bus and a service registry, and we migrate traffic onto them behind versioned contracts. Each contract is written down, tested in a sandbox, and monitored from the day it goes live.

The practical outcome is that adding a new tool stops being a months long negotiation. Teams stop building one off scripts and start publishing to a documented channel. When a dependency goes down, the blast radius is known in advance because the interface graph is explicit. We also leave behind a runbook that explains how to roll a contract forward without a freeze, which is often the single most valuable artefact of the engagement.

Strata Architecture Design

Strata Architecture Design turns a sprawling estate into a readable stack. We separate presentation, service, data and hardware into clean strata and define what may cross each boundary. The discipline is deliberately strict: a presentation component may call a service, a service may read a data store, and hardware talks through a thin device layer rather than directly into business logic. Because the boundaries are enforced, any layer can be replaced without a full rebuild.

We produce a target architecture diagram in the same visual language as our root window, with depth marks that indicate maturity rather than sequence. Teams use this diagram in planning, in procurement and in onboarding, which means new engineers learn the shape of the system in an afternoon instead of a quarter. The design also names its own pressure points, so leadership knows which strata are nearing capacity before a failure makes the decision for them.

Soil Data Pipelines

Soil Data Pipelines gather the groundwater of an organisation: sensor telemetry, application logs, operational events and customer activity. We design collection, cleaning, routing and storage as a single pipeline with observable stages, so a record can be traced from the instrument that produced it to the report that consumed it. Where hardware speaks an awkward protocol, we write a small adapter rather than asking the operator to change behaviour.

The pipelines are built to be quiet. Duplicate records are suppressed, timestamps are normalised, and malformed packets are quarantined rather than dropped, which means nothing is lost when a field device misbehaves. We also instrument the pipeline itself so that throughput, latency and error rates are visible on the same monitoring surface as everything else. Data stops being a monthly export and becomes a live current the whole organisation can draw from.

Foundation Systems Audit

A Foundation Systems Audit is the load test we run before any major build. Over several weeks we examine dependencies, single points of failure, undocumented changes, licence exposure and the true age of each component. We test whether the assumed load matches the real load, and we look for the quiet decays, expired certificates, abandoned indexes, credentials nobody has rotated, that tend to precede outages.

You receive a written report with findings ranked by consequence and effort, not a raw vulnerability dump. Each finding names the evidence, the likely failure mode and the smallest change that would remove the risk. Many clients tell us the audit alone paid for itself, because it caught a fragile integration that would have failed during a peak season. The report is yours to act on with any vendor, and we are equally happy to remain and do the work.

Subsurface Monitoring Platforms

Subsurface Monitoring Platforms are the windows. We build dashboards, alert rules and telemetry views that let an operations team watch a running system the way a researcher watches roots through glass. The design principle is legibility under pressure: the board must tell a tired engineer at three in the morning exactly which stratum is under strain, without requiring them to remember twelve unrelated tools.

We tune alerts to suppress noise rather than forward it, and we keep a clear separation between symptoms and causes so that an on call rotation is not buried in duplicates. Historical traces remain queryable so that post incident reviews can replay what actually happened. The platform is delivered with documentation for adding new signals, which keeps the window useful long after our engagement ends.

Enterprise Root Cause Engineering

Enterprise Root Cause Engineering is our deepest service. It is reserved for faults that cross hardware, network and application boundaries at the same time, the class of failure where ordinary triage loops for days without converging. We assemble a precise timeline from logs, traces and operator notes, reproduce the failure in a controlled environment, and isolate the true cause rather than the noisiest symptom.

The deliverable is a cause, a correction and a guard. The correction removes the fault at its root, and the guard is a test, monitor or process change that ensures the same failure cannot return unnoticed. Because we engineer the fix rather than trimming symptoms, clients often discover that one root cause was quietly responsible for several unrelated complaints. The result is a system that behaves predictably under conditions that previously produced chaos.

A process overview

Every engagement follows the same rhythm, whether it is a single audit or a multi year build. We begin with a survey, meeting operators, engineers and the people who hold institutional memory. We then measure, producing a foundation audit that grounds the plan in evidence. From there we agree the strata of the target architecture and the contracts that will hold it together. Only then do we build, integrating first, then pipelines, then monitoring, so that each new layer rests on something already proven.

Throughout, you receive artefacts you own. Diagrams, runbooks, pipeline definitions and monitoring boards are handed over as finished work, never as a promise of future access. We keep the engagement window finite and the documentation complete, which means your team can carry the system forward with confidence. We prefer to be the studio that made your engineers stronger rather than the one you cannot run without.

Engage the studio

Duzett Roots LLC takes on a limited number of integrated systems design engagements each season so that every project receives real attention from senior staff. If your platform has grown tangled, your data has become untrustworthy, or a recurring fault has resisted every explanation, we would like to walk the ground with you. Send a survey request to contact@duzettroots.lol, call +14844636877, or use the contact form to describe the ground you stand on.
